Dark fantasy hack-and-slash game
Dragonkin: The Banished is a premium action game by developer Eko Software. It's an ARPG adventure set in a dark fantasy world wherein players will fight to save the land from an ancient draconic threat. They will take on various monsters and deadly creatures to keep their cities safe and further expand their territories.
Much like Path of Exile 2 or Diablo IV, Dragonkin: The Banished boasts a roster of different character classes to choose from with different strengths and abilities. It also has a deep progression system to create unique character builds to suit various play styles.
World of dragons
The game takes place in the titular dark fantasy world of Dragonkin, corrupted by ancient dragon blood and where evil draconic creatures spawn across the land. You're a legendary hero who will take up arms to wipe out this threat. Traverse multiple unique biomes and defeat a wide variety of enemies as you make your way to vanquish the source of the plight, the Dragon Lords.
Dragonkin: The Banished offers multiple character classes, starting with The Barbarian, a rage-fueled warrior with supernatural strengths and ice powers. The Oracle, touched by dragon blood, can channel electricity through enemies. Ever incorruptible, The Knight uses the powers of light to fight the darkness. You can tap into the Ancestral Grid to access an extensive skill tree to create your unique fighting style.
There's also a city-building element to the gameplay that will have you build and protect your city hidden in the mountains. Your decisions will dictate the upgrades you'll unlock as you welcome more people into your settlement. Now, the one you should know before proceeding is that Dragonkin: The Banished is still in Early Access. As such, development is ongoing to add more content and address issues.
Save a corrupted world
Overall, Dragonkin: The Banished offers an action-packed dark fantasy adventure with an intriguing story and highly adaptive combat with different character classes and customizable builds. In its current state, many will be left wanting more due to its thin content, though. Hopefully, future content updates will come soon and address this concern. Nevertheless, this is one worth checking out for yourself.
